Great opportunity for a Strategic Transformation Consultant to join our team in Dallas!

Job Overview

The $30B unit at AT&T that serves all business customers is on a transformational journey with the goals of improved revenue growth and cost structure. We are looking for an experienced Strategic Transformation Consultant to join our team, identify strategic opportunities, and collaborate with senior leaders to rapidly drive change and deliver financial results that maximize shareholder value from the unit.

Ongoing Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and execute strategic opportunities to materially improve all aspects of the P&L for the $30B AT&T Business unit over the next 1-5 years, including revenue growth and cost structure domains
  • Research industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to inform strategic opportunity identification and decision-making
  • Conduct consulting-grade analysis to evaluate strategic opportunities including determining the magnitude of upside, investment, risk, and critical success factors
  • Translate large-scale opportunities into actionable plans that have a strong likelihood of realizing financial results
  • Develop the case for change and execution plan that compels all stakeholders – including Officers and senior leaders – to take risk, manage risk, and execute transformation
  • Initiate opportunity execution and establish effective oversight to ensure the opportunity is converted into realized financial results at a high success rate 

For the first 6-12 months, the first assignment for this role will be as follows:

  • Conducting consulting-grade cost and efficiency benchmarking to measure AT&T Business’s performance against industry peers in the following domains: Customer Service, Service Delivery, Service Assurance, and other Operations domains support AT&T Business customers
  • Work cross functionally with external consultants and internal AT&T business units to collect and validate financial and performance metrics data used for benchmarking analysis
  • Develop a repeatable competitive benchmarking analysis procedures including, but not limited to: annual data collection across the industry, competitive benchmark reporting, and assessing AT&T Business’ performance across operational efficiency, customer management and operations, and force productivity.
  • The Benchmark Analyst will be responsible for meeting with AT&T Business leaders to present actionable recommendations using benchmarking data, results, and recommend tactical plans to get AT&T to best in class in the industry.  

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-6 years as a consultant driving financial improvement of businesses
  • Minimum of 2-4 years as a consultant developing and driving industry benchmark performance metrics with some of that experience being telco-specific
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant telecommunications or technology services experience
  • Proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and executing large-scale transformation initiatives with significant financial impact
  • Experience in translating opportunity into realized financial results at a very high success rate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred

Qualifications:

  • Consulting-grade analysis and collaboration skills to determine the magnitude of upside and risk for strategic opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and insights into clear recommendations and action plans
  • Compelling ability to convince Officers and senior leaders of value creation potential, manageable risk, and likelihood of success
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and feels right at home in situations of ambiguity and change
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen 

Our Principal-Business Strategy managers earn between 128,400 – $192,600. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.

IT Assurance Sr Manager – Dallas and Chicago

The IT Assurance Senior Manager will be responsible for:

  • Planning, supervising staff, and executing IT Assurance engagements, Compliance Standard Assessments, and Consulting engagements as well as lead and support demand creation and business development efforts.
  • Managing projects to ensure high quality delivery within the project budget and time-lines.
  • Senior Managers are to be hands-on in the delivery and execution of project tasks for complex technology environments.
  • Senior Managers are expected to have the ability to present and communicate status and issues to client senior management personnel. The IT Assurance Senior Manager will set performance expectations for senior and staff level.
  • Participating/leading strategic and tactical initiatives related to new product offerings and services.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and identify new opportunities for business.
  • Defining performance expectations for senior and staff level IT auditors and providing performance feedback.
  • The IT Assurance Senior Manager will play an active role in developing business in the local market and building and maintaining client relationships
  • The IT Assurance Senior Manager will be involved in the development of marketing and through leadership to be distributed in the Market

Typical IT Assurance Senior Manager responsibilities on a client engagement include:

  • Managing and leading IT Assurance/Consulting engagements.
  • Overseeing the engagement economics of the project that includes budget status tracking, billing, and collection analysis.
  • Supervising completion of and reviewing workpapers.
  • Preparing final versions of audit and consulting reports.
  • Providing technical guidance to staff and client organization personnel with respect to information systems, technology architecture, and security.
  • Communicating issues and status to  executives and client senior management.
  • Consulting with clients to understand and address their needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology with a Security or Networking focus is preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the areas of IT audit, SAS 70/SOC, IT Financial Audit Support or PCI or HITRUST Compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Solid experience in planning engagements, managing IT audit projects, supervising personnel and developing audit work programs.
  • Work experience of at least several years with a top tier consulting/security firm or a Big Four accounting firm is preferred.
  • Knowledge of midrange or mainframe architecture (IBM iSeries or IBM OS/390).
  • Auditing network operating systems, network architecture and configuration standards.
  • Evaluating application controls for Oracle Financials, SAP, Lawson, Hyperion or PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Audit planning, execution, and project management.
  • Drafting reports and executive summaries on IT control issues for senior management personnel.
  • Performing technical IT audits or audits of IT controls that support financial or business operations.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Security Manager.
  • Travel expectations: 0 to 60%.
  • This position may require national or international travel.

Additional Skills Desired:

  • CPA or MBA is a plus.
  • Manager level experience with a Big Four accounting firm, top tier consulting is preferred but not required.
